Swire Shipping Fijian Drua flyhalf Isaiah Armstrong-Ravula

Former Wallabies star and current Reds flyhalf James O’Connor has spoken highly of young Swire Shipping Fijian Drua flyhalf Isaiah Armstrong-Ravula and says he is someone to watch in the future.

O’Connor says he has been watching Ravula this season and he is really impressed with how the youngster has been playing especially when he keeps his cool under pressure.

He says Ravula has been really good with his kicking, he is very good under the high ball and his defence has been very impressive and he pulled the strings well against the Reds last Saturday.

O’Connor jokingly says the Aussies will claim him because he has links to Brisbane.

Ravula currently sits in 4th place in the overall top points scorers for 2024 with 97 points.

Meanwhile, the Drua will need to secure a win this weekend against the Highlanders to help them maintain their spot in the top 8 with 2 games remaining for the round-robin competition.

The Drua play the Highlanders at 2.05pm this Sunday in Dunedin.

In other matches this week, the Chiefs play the Hurricanes at 7.05pm Friday, the Brumbies host the Rebels at 9.35pm Friday, Moana Pasifika take on the Waratahs at 4.35pm Saturday, the Crusaders play the Blues at 7.05pm Saturday, the Reds meet the Force at 9.35pm Saturday.
