PAFCO Chairman Iqbal Janif (2nd from R) at the handover to the Ministry of Health.

Over 2,400 cans of Sunbell Tuna has been donated by the Pacific Fishing Company Limited to the Health Ministry to aid those frontline workers manning the Government quarantine facilities in the Western Division.

While handing over the donation, PAFCO Chairman Iqbal Janif says the donation is from all the management staff and workers of PAFCO.

He says these items will assist those workers in the frontline who have given so much of their time in keeping the nation safe.

Janif says Fiji is lucky that we have a government that took control of the situation and an active minister for health who got the restrictions up as quick as possible and now the country is reaping the benefits.

Head of Incident Management Team at the Ministry of Health, Dr Dashika Balak says the donation will assist their workers in the frontline by providing them with food which will enable them to work sufficiently.

She says some of these workers have been in this facilities for months and sometimes they don’t have something good to eat, just to safeguard the nation and their families.

Dr Balak assured them that the items will be fully utilised and will be put to good use so that nothing is wasted as all donations are being used to safeguard the people of the nation.
