Heavy Rain Alert and Strong Wind Warning remain in force for Fiji

People need to take precautions as the Heavy Rain Alert remains in force for the whole of Fiji Group.

A strong Wind Warning remains in force for the land areas of Yasawa, Lau and Lomaiviti Groups, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, southwest and eastern Viti Levu (coast Rakiraki, Tailevu, Nasinu, Nausori, Costal Suva-Lami, Coral Coast to Navua, Sigatoka and Korolevu).

Meanwhile, the Nadi Weather Office says a trough of low pressure lies to the north of the group and associated clouds and showers are expected to affect the group till tomorrow.

Another active trough of low pressure associated with TD05F is expected to approach the group tomorrow.

Occasional showers over most places and showers becoming frequent and heavy in the afternoon or evening.

Afternoon or evening thunderstorms are expected.

Isolated heavy falls could lead to flash flooding of low-lying and flood-prone areas.
