Christmas is about spending time with families and friends, and this is true for Asgar Ali Sanaila of Lalakaro settlement in Vanua Levu, as he celebrated this joyous day with close families and friends.

Sanaila says it’s the time of the year when his family and friends spend precious time together.

He says this includes his i-Taukei and Indo-Fijian neighbours who joined them for their Christmas celebration, where they shared bread, Christmas cake, chips and sweets to start their day.

He also says after the first meal, the family members started preparing lovo as they have relatives from Suva and Savusavu, and it is great that they have made an effort to be part of the celebration.

Zeenat Ali, who is also from the Lalakaro settlement, says there are about 7 to 8 families who are with them during the joyful occasion, and this is a trend for them.
