Faith Ministry brings food and kindness to CWM Hospital patients

People waiting to be seen at CWM Hospital every Wednesday are being treated with love and kindness as the Faith Ministry distributes food to those who are hungry and have been waiting for hours.

Church Pastor Fulori Ofa says they began distributing around 100 servings of food and juice in April this year.

Ofa says that during her own hospital stay a few years ago, she noticed patients arriving from the islands for reviews, many of whom did not have anything to eat.

She recounted meeting an elderly couple in their 70s one evening, who had travelled from Ovalau that morning and had not brought any food with them.

Ofa says this experience made her wonder how many others faced similar struggles and it inspired her to provide food to those waiting for their turn to see the doctors.

The pastor revealed that the funding for this initiative comes from church members, with a couple and another man starting food preparation at 6am.

As the festive season approaches, Ofa reminded people that while smiles and laughter may be visible, only God knows the challenges others are facing.

She emphasised that this is a time to love one another.
