Exposing the players onto the world stage is the objective for Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s interim coach Timoci Volavola this weekend as they prepare to kick start the 2024/2025 HSBC SVNS Series in Dubai tomorrow.

Volavola says this is the key to building a strong team and he is working on grooming the players to lift their standards into the expected standards to play in the World Series.

He says his expectation for the team is not too high as he just expects them to go out and play, enjoy themselves, display their God-given talent and show what they can offer on the world stage.

The Fijiana 7s will take on Ireland at 5.44pm tomorrow in their first pool match, they will then face Australia at 9.05pm tomorrow and then play China at 1.13am Sunday in their final pool match.

The women’s cup quarterfinals will kick off at 5.20pm Sunday, the semifinals will begin at 9.12pm Sunday and the cup final will be at 3.35am Monday.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s will take on Spain at 6.06pm tomorrow in their first match, they will then take on the USA at 9.52pm tomorrow before they play NZ at 3.16am Sunday in their final pool match.

The men’s cup quarter finals will kick off at 6.48pm Sunday, the semi finals will start at 10.06pm Sunday and the cup final will be at 4.11am Monday.
