Fiji Water Flying Fijians coach Mick Byrne

Fiji Water Flying Fijians coach Mick Byrne has revealed that during the last 6 months since he has taken up the coaching role, the most challenging part that he is looking forward to now is having to train the whole team for just 3 days before their first July test match against the Wallabies.

Byrne says the team will be assembling in Fiji on the 26th of this month before flying out to Newcastle on the 27th.

He says they will just keep their heads down and understand that the players are playing a lot of rugby this season.

He adds they will make sure they look after the players when they come into camp.

When asked about reuniting with former Swire Shipping Fijian Drua Head of Athletic Performance, Nacanieli Cawanibuka who has now rejoined the Fiji Rugby Union as their General Manager of High Performance Unit, Byrne says he is really looking forward to getting back to work with Cawanibuka, having done that for the three years they were together at the Drua.

The Flying Fijians are scheduled to play the Wallabies on 6th July in Newcastle, Australia.

They then play Scotland on 12th of July at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
