An investigation is currently underway after a 7-year-old boy was attacked by a black dog near the Nasese Seawall after which he sustained serious injuries.

Police say the boy was playing when he was attacked.

Spokesperson Ana Naisoro says they have located the owners.

She says the owner’s have said they had tied the dog before going to church and did not know how it got out.

A police report was lodged on Sunday.

A person has claimed on Facebook that two Rottweiler dogs roam around the Nasese Seawall and the bowling club area without their owner.

A couple who took the 7-year-old child to hospital says they had informed Police about the incident.

They say they have heard that this is not the first time that this has happened.
