Ebenezer Saukuru has won a silver medal in the Under-18 Boys' Javelin Throw event at the Darwin Oceania Athletics Competition in Australia.
The Marist Brothers High School student won gold at the Coca-Cola Games last month and has now secured a place on the podium at the Oceania Championships.
Saukuru recorded a throw of 62.16 metres, achieving a personal best at the competition.

In the women's category, Ratu Sir Lala Sukuna Memorial School student Salanieta Vereivalu put on a clutch performance to win a silver medal in the Women's Javelin Throw Finals with a personal best, throwing a distance of 47.08 metres.

Later today, Heleina Young and Braelynn Yee will compete in the women’s 100 metres event at 9.25pm.
