Tuwai targets improvements as Fiji prepares for Spain

Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s side Assistant Coach Jerry Tuwai says their aim is to win the tournament in Spain and improve their standings on the World Championship ladder.

With Fiji currently in fifth place following the Hong Kong 7s tournament, preparations are now underway for the Valladolid 7s at the end of the month.

Tuwai says that coming into his new role, he is focusing on addressing areas the team lacked in during previous tournaments.

He says they have been facing problems in the breakdown, discipline, and the mental preparation of players, which is something he will work to improve.

The Fiji Men’s 7s side will open their Spain campaign against France on Friday, 29th May at 11.40pm.

They will then play the USA at 4.24am on Saturday, 30th May, before meeting hosts Spain at 12.12am on Sunday, 31st May.
