Police have now confirmed that their CCTV camera has revealed no incident of kidnapping in Valelevu as alleged by a student of Nasinu Gospel Primary School yesterday.

Spokesperson Ana Naisoro says Police are currently trying to get to the bottom of the claim made by the 11-year-old student that some Asian men tried to kidnap her and she managed to escape.

The girl also claims that she saw other students in the van.

However Police CCTV footage in the area that is being highlighted by the girl is showing no such incident.

Fijivillage has asked Police if this is another fabricated story by a student as there is no evidence to show that some students have been kidnapped.

Police are waiting to interview the girl again today.

We have also spoken to the Headteacher of a primary school in Suva who had sent out a message regarding the alleged kidnapping to all parents of that school yesterday.

This had caused a lot of panic as the message is being widely circulated since yesterday.

When contacted by Fijivillage today, the Headteacher says his message should be disregarded.

Stay with us.

We will have more on this later today.
