The Vodafone Fiji 7s team will face World Sevens Series leaders South Africa in the cup quarter finals of the Scotland 7s tonight after topping their pool.

Fiji will play South Africa in the second cup quarter final at 11.20 tonight.

Earlier this week, coach Ben Ryan said that this will be a perfect situation for them to give them a fair chance of the race towards the series title.

South Africa lost to New Zealand 19-24 in their last pool which sets up an exciting match against Fiji.

Ryan said they are ready.

Fiji proved too strong for Scotland and scored seven tries.

Eminoni Nasilasila stepped up and produced two tries each to Josaia Wini and lanky forward Semi Kunatani.

The other tries was scored by Nasilasila and Samisoni Viriviri.

In the first cup quarterfinal at 10.58 tonight, Australia will take on USA, Fiji will play South Africa 11.20 tonight, Canada will face England at 11.42 tonight while tournament host Scotland will meet defending champions New Zealand at 12.04am.

New Zealand can join them if they reach the Cup semi finals while the final spot will go down to the England Sevens tournament next week with Australia and England going neck and neck in the World Sevens Series standings.

Looking at Fiji's pool matches, Fiji thumped Wales 40-17 and thrashed Portugal 40-12 in their second game.

Coach Ben Ryan said the players hard work have paid off.

Fiji are also aiming to win the HSBC 7 series title and will have to win the Scotland 7s and finish ahead of South Africa in the England 7s next weekend if they are to claim the series title..

The cup quarter finals will start at 10.28 tonight, the cup semifinals will be at 1.58am tomorrow while the cup final will be held at 5.20am tomorrow.
