Garvey Park in Tavua has undergone some renovation work.
Sponsors of the renovation work the Bank South Pacific also provided the staff to help out in the clean‑up and painting of the facility for two‑weeks at Garvey Park while a private contractor was hired for the major works.
At the handover ceremony, Council Chambers Chief Executive Tulsi Ram said they were grateful for BSP coming on board to give the toilet facilities at the park a brighter and better look.
Ram confirmed the facility was damaged during the Cyclone earlier this year but plans to repair or upgrade was always subject to the availability of funds.
Garvey Park is the only sporting facility in Tavua and accommodates almost all major sporting events in the district from schools athletics, soccer, club rugby tournaments to organised cultural shows and carnivals.
