Poor waste disposal and neglect are contributing to the ongoing issues at the Votualevu Roundabout in Nadi.

The Fiji Roads Authority says flooding at the Votualevu Roundabout has remained a problem for drivers and members of the public over the years, especially during heavy rain.

They say blocked drains continue to contribute to flooding in the area.

The FRA has carried out works to clear drainage systems, where plastic bottles, food containers, shopping bags and other waste materials were found clogging the drains.

They say flooding problems are not limited to the Votualevu Roundabout, with similar drainage issues continuing to affect several areas around the country.

They have urged people to take civic pride and avoid littering.
