6 healthcare workers missing in Lau Waters have been found

Good news as all the 6 healthcare workers who were missing in the Lau Waters have been found.

This has been confirmed by Minister for Health, Doctor Ratu Atonio Lalabalavu.

Photos and videos are being circulated with many people celebrating that the 6 members of the medical team have been found.

Doctor Lalabalavu says he is really grateful and relieved after hearing the good news.

The Republic of Fiji Navy says the 6 medical workers were located South West of Lakeba by Lomaiviti Princess 12.

All 6 were safely rescued.

The Navy extends their sincere appreciation to the mariners and vessels operating in the area who responded promptly and supported the search effort. 

Special acknowledgement is extended to the captain and crew of Lomaiviti Princess 12 for locating and successfully rescuing the missing individuals. 

They also thank all government agencies, search teams, communities and individuals whose collective efforts contributed to this successful outcome. 

They say this incident demonstrates the importance of cooperation, vigilance and commitment amongst agencies and mariners.
