Fiji deserves a better way of governing - NextGen Alliance Party Leader

Fiji deserves a better way of governing.

That is the message from NextGen Alliance Party Leader Apisai Moce as he officially launched the party at Rewasau Village, Nabobuco in Naitasiri.

Moce says the NextGen Alliance Party was not created because Fiji needed another political party, but because the country deserves a better way of governing.

He says governments have changed, Prime Ministers have changed and policies have changed, yet too many ordinary families continue to face the same struggles year after year.

He says the time has come to stop asking which political party is in power and start asking whether the government is truly working for the people, stressing that the government exists for only one purpose, which is to improve the lives of its people.

Addressing young people, Moce says too many believe their future begins at the airport, adding that the NextGen Alliance wants them to see opportunities at home and build their future in Fiji.

He also says every citizen, regardless of ethnicity or background, belongs in Fiji's future and that the country's success depends on what unites its people rather than what divides them.

Moce says the party's priorities include honest government, strong families, quality education, accessible healthcare, safe communities, prosperous farmers, growing businesses, meaningful jobs, modern infrastructure and stronger rural and maritime development.

He also says leadership is about service rather than power, adding that it is not about status, titles, motorcades or power, but about walking beside the people, listening before speaking and serving before commanding.

The NextGen Alliance Leader says if the people of Fiji entrust his party with public office, it will remember that Parliament exists to serve villages, government exists to serve families and leaders exist to serve the people.

He also highlighted the party's grassroots beginnings, saying it has no wealthy backers or powerful interests behind it and was built by ordinary Fijians, including market vendors, farmers, families, church members and young volunteers.
