State's forfeiture application hearing in court on $8.2M worth of properties in Denarau used to store 4.1 tonnes of meth
The case continues in court regarding the State filing a restraining order application and a subsequent forfeiture application on two properties valued at approximately $8.2 million comprising an area of 1,293 square metres, a property and a land comprising of 1,157 square metres, in Denarau, Nadi, identified during a financial investigation as properties used to store 4.1 tonnes of methamphetamine.

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions says the respondents in the matter are Denarau Fitness PTE LTD, Sam Amine, Rasha Kurdi and Mherina Ali Ahmed.

The two properties remain under restraint pursuant to orders granted by the High Court last year.

The State has now appeared for an inter parte mention of its application for a restraining order over rental income generated from two restrained Denarau properties, pending determination of a civil forfeiture application.

The State is seeking final forfeiture orders under section 19 of the Proceeds of Crimes Act 1997.

The matter has been adjourned to 11th for an interim ruling and to 2nd November 2026 for the substantive hearing of the civil forfeiture application including orders relating to the rental income derived from the properties.

Meanwhile 9 people including Justin Ho, David Heritage, Louie Logaivau, Jale Aukerea, Sakiusa Tuva, Ratu Aporosa Davelevu, Ratu Osea Levula, Cathy Tuirabe and Viliame Colawaliku are serving time in prison after being convicted of the importation and possession of 4.1 plus tonnes of methamphetamine between November 2023 and January 2024 in Nadi.
