Douglas Daveta scored a hat-trick to assist the Fiji Airways Men's National 7s side to defeat Spain 43-12 in their final pool match at the HSBC SVNS New York 7s this morning.
This means their World Sevens Series title campaign is still alive as they have also booked their place in the Cup semi-finals.
Fiji showcased some brilliant plays as they ran in four tries to one against Spain in the first half to lead 28-5.
Jo Talacolo, Terio Veilawa and Daveta got a try each in the second half to seal their win.
Discipline was also an issue as George Bose was shown a yellow card for a dangerous tackle with two minutes left in the second half. However, this did not dampen the momentum as Fiji scored another try with only six men on the field.
Looking at their results this morning, Fiji lost to Argentina 31-12 in their first pool match and beat Great Britain 24-17 in their second match.
Fiji will face Australia in the first semi final at 4.28am tomorrow, while South Africa will take on Argentina at 4.50am in the second semi final.
The Cup final is scheduled for 8:41am.
