Volunteers at todays CWM Hospital clean up

The CWM Hospital Cleanup Day has just ended and it received tremendous support as various organizations and associations came to volunteer.

Dr Esther Batiri Williams who is the Chairperson for the Board of Visitors says they had to reduce the number of volunteers to a manageable size and are expecting over 600 people to take part.

Filipe Corerega who represents Suva Grammar Ex Scholars Association says it is great to see people supporting and lending a hand in this great initiative.

Corerega says he sees no reason why it should not continue in the coming years, as it brings cleanliness and proper hygiene.

Vanessa Vudikaria, Multi-Country Coordinator, UN Volunteers Pacific Field Unit, says, the team have come to support the initiative that will have greater impact on the Hospital.

Vudikaria says it is amazing to see the number of people present, showing that everyone is together in bringing the best out of the Clean up.

Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, Lynda Tabuya is also present at the Clean Up.

A total of 27 organizations have turned up including BSP, HFC, USP, Suva Grammars Ex Scholars Association, Students from International Suva School and many others.
