The agreement, formalized by Acting Minister for Home Affairs Filimoni Vosarogo and U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd J. Austin III, enhances military interoperability and logistical support.

Fiji and the United States have signed the Acquisition and Cross-Servicing Agreement, marking a significant step in strengthening defence and security ties.

The agreement, formalized by Acting Minister for Home Affairs Filimoni Vosarogo and U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd J. Austin III, enhances military interoperability and logistical support.

The ACSA facilitates collaboration on critical regional challenges such as climate change, maritime security, and countering narcotics trafficking.

It builds on existing initiatives, including joint military training, maritime security efforts, and the 2018 Shiprider Agreement.

The decade-long partnership also sets the stage for a Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) to expand joint exercises and deepen defence engagements.

The Fiji Government says Fiji's role as a regional leader in Indo-Pacific stability is further reinforced through this growing U.S. partnership.
