Bad condition of roads and potholes causing more traffic and a major risk of damaging vehicles

Serious concerns have been raised by people travelling along the Suva-Nausori corridor on the bad conditions of our roads and the amount of potholes which is a major risk of damaging vehicles and is even causing more traffic as drivers are either slowing down or dodging potholes.

People are asking what the Fiji Roads Authority is doing about it as their contractors are just digging up parts of the road and then not sealing it again.

Some places that fijivillage News came across yesterday have been dug up and then just filled up with gravel, in some cases cones have just been placed there, some sections of road have just been left with circles drawn around them while some roads have been left unsealed.

There were sections of road along Ratu Dovi Rd heading towards Nadera where sections of road were cut out but there were no signs to warn drivers of the uneven road ahead.

There is a section of road just before the crossing at the CWM Hospital along Waimanu Road that can easily cause an accident or cause major damage to vehicles as drivers swerve to avoid the potholes.

fijivillage News sent questions to FRA yesterday on what is being done about this and when the potholes will be fixed.

FRA has still not responded.
