Good news, as Lyndhurst Group’s multi-million dollar Koro Development Project at Kalabu’s Tax-Free Zone in Valelevu is expected to create employment opportunities for 15,000 people.
The project will see the construction of a shopping complex which will have a food court, conference hall, eateries and other services.
While speaking at the launch, Project Sponsor Ratu Qativi Robert Cromb encouraged everyone who would be involved in the project to support this initiative in whatever way they can.
Ratu Qativi says that whether people come in as tenants, live nearby, or simply play a role in shaping the future, he hopes they will take advantage of the opportunity.
He also emphasised that this project is not just about money, it is about the village, about unity, and about creating opportunities from within their community.
Ratu Qativi also highlighted that the project will take eight years to complete, with a total investment of $400 million, and will be carried out in three phases.
While officiating at the groundbreaking ceremony, Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka says this is more than just a symbolic event; it marks the beginning of a bold new chapter that will reshape the capital and redefine the scale of ambition possible in the Pacific.
Rabuka adds that the Koro Development Project will stand not only as words of commitment but as a powerful expression of who we are and what we believe in.
