New ministers sworn in at State House today

The new cabinet for the People's Alliance, NFP and SODELPA coalition government has been announced, with newly elected Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka holding the Minister for Foreign Affairs Climate Change, Civil Service, Information and Public Enterprises portfolio.

NFP Leader Professor Biman Prasad will be the new Minister for Finance, Strategic Planning, National Development and Statistic and also one of the three deputy Prime Minister’s.

The Attorney General and Minister for Justice will be former Nadi Magistrate Siromi Turaga.

NFP President Pio Tikoduadua will be the new Minister for Home Affairs and Immigration, while former General Secretary of the Fiji Teachers Union, Agni Deo Singh, will be the Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations.

SODELPA MP Ifereimi Vasu will be the Minister for i-Taukei Affairs, Culture, Heritage and Arts, Aseri Radrodro will be the new Minister for Education and Dr Antonio Lalabalavu will be the new Minister for Health.

People's Alliance Deputy Leader Lynda Tabuya will be responsible for the Ministry for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, with Sashi Kiran coming in as the Assistant Minister.

Filimoni Vosarogo will be the Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources, while Manoa Kamikamica is one of the three deputy Prime Ministers, and also the Minister for External Trade Cooperatives and SMEs.

People's Alliance General Secretary Sakiasi Ditoka will look after the Ministry for Rural, Maritime Development and Disaster Management, while SODELPA Leader Viliame Gavoka is one of the three Deputy Prime Ministers and also the Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation.

Other portfolios in the new cabinet include businessman Charan Jeath Singh who is the new Minister for Multi-Ethnic Affairs’and Sugar, Maciu Katamotu is the Minister for Housing and Local Government, Kalaveti Vodo Ravu is the Minister for Fisheries and Forest, Jese Saukuru is the Minister for Youth and Sports, Vatimi Rayalu is the Minister for Agriculture and Waterways, while Ro Filipe Tuisawau is the Minister for Public Works, Communication, Transport and Meteorological Services.

Sakiusa Tubuna is the Assistant Minister in the PM's Office, Esrom Immanuel is the Assistant Minister for Finance, Jovesa Vocea is the Assistant Minister for iTaukei Affairs, Alitia Bainivalu is Assistant Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation, Iliesa Vanawalu is the Assistant Minister for Education, Rakuita Vakalalabure is the Assistant Minister for Home Affairs, Iliesa Sovui Vanawalu is the Assistant Minister for Education, Lenora Qereqeretabua is the Assistant Minister for Housing and Local Government, Tomasi Tunabuna is the Assistant Minister for Agriculture and Waterways, and Ratu Isikeli Tuiwailevu is the Assistant Minister for Rural, Maritime Development and Disaster Management.
