If there’s one thing about Rihanna, she’s not afraid to stoke a little bit of controversy. We all remember the naked dress at the 2014 CFDAs or how she revolutionized maternity style. Today, the singer continued her longstanding commitment to pushing the envelope by testing out one of the year’s most hotly contested trends: the cargo maxi skirt.

Rihanna headed to Nevada for the Las Vegas Grand Prix in an outfit that is sure to get people fired up. She wore Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls jersey, #23, tucked into a black Balenciaga cargo maxi skirt with a slit up the front along with a black bomber. Under her arm she carried another super hot item: a black Gucci Horsebit bag, her neon green nails contrasting the cherry red on her jersey.

Rih also repped her own brand, wearing a pair of Fenty Puma creepers with white ankle length socks. She also showed some love for A$AP Rocky's creative agency, AWGE, whose logo was plastered on a red and white trucker cap. While the outfit leaned toward the masculine, she added some feminine touches. On her neck, she added a thick gold collar and a diamond encrusted necklace with a bejeweled pendant that appeared to be the Venus symbol.

Whether or not you’re on board with Rihanna’s latest look, she certainly makes a good case for keeping up with trends—even the hot-button ones.
