When it comes to fashion and influence, consider 2022 to have been the year of Bella Hadid. From the supermodel's viral catwalk moments to her eclectic street style – which is emulated by fashion fans the world over – her name has been the one on everyone's lips.

So, it comes as no surprise that the model has been named 'Power Dresser of the Year' in Lyst's Year in Fashion 2022 round-up; an annual report that analyses the data of its 200 million users to establish the top trends, brands and products each year.

Over the past 12 months, searches for items such as corsets and cargo trousers increased after she wore them. On average, Hadid encouraged a 1,900 per cent increase in searches for similar styles and pieces.

After the model wore one of fashion's most viral items back in September, the ultra mini-platform Ugg boot, the style immediately went viral on TikTok, caused a spike in searches and completely sold out.

Hadid's style has also played a part in the rise of the 'weird girl' aesthetic, another key trend that Lyst has noted coming out of this year.

The style sees a mix and match of unexpected pieces, patterns and colours, creating a bold, undeniably 'weird', ensemble. It has been dominating the fashion scene, with other stylish celebrities like Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner and Iris Law tapping into the style that offers a fresh spin on maximalist dressing.

As well as with her personal style, Hadid also went viral on the runway, with Lyst naming her Coperni catwalk appearance as the 'Viral Moment of the Year'.

Coperni's spray paint dress was all over social media, particularly TikTok, where it gained over one million video views. As a result, Coperni received a 3,000 per cent increase in searches for the brand, making it the most-searched from fashion month.
