The Damodar Group today unveiled plans for Damodar City Nadi, a development that will bring together shopping, dining, entertainment, accommodation, office space and community facilities in one location.
Minister for Finance, Commerce and Business Development Esrom Immanuel says the project will create more than 680 permanent jobs across retail, hospitality, technology, logistics, construction and professional services, while also supporting local businesses and entrepreneurs.
He says the development is a strong vote of confidence in Fiji's economy and demonstrates what can be achieved when the Government and the private sector work together.
Immanuel says the project will also help grow Nadi's 24-hour economy by encouraging visitors to stay longer and spend more, creating new opportunities for local farmers, suppliers, startups and small businesses.
The Minister says the Damodar Group spent more than 16 years studying the Nadi market to ensure the development meets the region's needs rather than simply constructing another commercial building.
Damodar Group Chief Executive Officer Div Damodar says the development will include cinemas, family entertainment facilities, an international food court, restaurants, retail outlets, co-working spaces, a tourism information centre and a branded business hotel.
He says the group aims to create opportunities for surrounding communities by supporting employment, innovation and entrepreneurship alongside the commercial development.
The official launch of the Damodar City Nadi development, including construction details and tenancy plans, is expected to be held in mid-2027.
