Prayer service turns into celebration after miraculous rescue of six health workers
A prayer service organised for six health workers who were missing in the Lau Waters turned into a celebration of thanksgiving following their miraculous rescue last night.

Assistant Health Minister, Penioni Ravunawa says the service at the FNU Auditorium at Extension Street in Suva was planned yesterday when the six health workers were still out at sea and was expected to be a vigil and a time of prayer.

Ravunawa says what could have been a different story became a moment of celebration through God's miracle and intervention.

He says the medical and nursing fraternity came together to remember their colleagues’ determination and what they went through while being at sea for more than 36 hours.

The thanksgiving prayer session was held to give thanks for the safe return of the six health workers and to acknowledge the resilience they showed during the ordeal.

Meanwhile the six health workers were flown in from Lau to Suva this afternoon.

They are currently getting medical treatment.
