The ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ trailer has finally dropped, exciting fans around the world.

Destin Daniel Cretton who earlier directed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, helms the anticipated fourth instalment in the MCU‘s Spider-Man franchise, which completed filming late last year.

The synopsis says four years have passed since the events of No Way Home, and Peter is now an adult living entirely alone, having voluntarily erased himself from the lives and memories of those he loves.

Crime-fighting in a New York that no longer knows his name, he has devoted himself entirely to protecting his city — a full-time Spider-Man — but as the demands on him intensify, the pressure sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence, even as a strange new pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he has ever faced.

As the trailer reveals, “Sometimes Spider-Man has to do the hard thing, even if it breaks Peter Parker’s heart.”

Tom Holland is Spider-Man, and Zendaya reprises her role as MJ, with Sadie Sink also joining the cast in an undisclosed role. John Bernthal is Punisher and Mark Ruffalo is Bruce Banner. Also starring are Jacob Batalon, Tramell Tillman, and Michael Mando.

Helmed by Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings), producers include Amy Pascal and Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige.

Filming began in Scotland last August but production briefly halted after Holland was treated for a mild concussion, reportedly during a stunt gone wrong.

The actor was taken to the hospital and examined, but not admitted.

Spider-Man: No Way Home, from 2021, made USD$1.9BN at the global box office and USD$814M domestic.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will drop in theatres on 31st July.
