Applications for the Prime Minister’s International Business Awards (PMIBA) 2026 are now open, with businesses given three months to apply for what is being described as the country’s most prestigious business award.
Investment Fiji Chief Executive Officer Kamal Chetty says winning an award can help businesses access new markets, motivate employees and gain additional support.
Chetty says last year’s awards were a great success, attracting the highest number of attendees and a significant increase in applications.
He says this year’s awards align with the theme, "Economic Transformation, Inclusive Growth", and are designed to recognise and encourage businesses contributing to Fiji’s economic development and transformation.
He adds that award winners will be given priority when Investment Fiji identifies international opportunities and explores new markets.
Chetty says applicants must be Fiji-registered companies and tax compliant.
He says there are 16 categories this year, including three general categories and several special categories.
He says the Supreme Award will be selected from among the category winners and does not require a separate application.
Meanwhile, PMIBA Working Committee Chair Leilani Volau says applications are being accepted entirely online through IBA Fiji.
Volau says businesses must create an account, verify their email address and complete the online application form.
She says all companies are required to enter a general category and may also apply for any relevant special categories.
Volau says applicants can save their progress and return later to complete and submit them.
She says organisers are aiming to increase both applications and attendance after last year’s event attracted 760 attendees.
She adds that the application drive team will be available to assist businesses with any queries regarding the application process or award categories.
Applications will remain open until August, while the awards ceremony is expected to be held in November. The venue is yet to be confirmed.
