Gospel High School and Suva Grammar School delivered some of the most dominant performances of the day as Round 2 of the Southern Zone Schools Rugby Competition produced a number of one-sided victories and high-scoring encounters.
Matches are being played at the Sports Council Facility, Albert Park Ground and the Suva Grammar School Grounds for the 2026 Vodafone Deans Southern Zone Competition, where six schools are battling for a place in the next round.
Suva Grammar School recorded convincing wins in both the Under-16 and Under-17 grades at their home ground.
The Grammar Under-16 side overwhelmed Marist Champagnat Institute 69-5, while their Under-17 team comfortably defeated Jai Narayan College 38-0.
Gospel High School also made a strong statement in the competition, thrashing Ratu Sukuna Memorial School 67-0 in the Under-15 grade.
The school's Under-16 side backed up that performance with a hard-fought 24-20 victory over Lomaivuna High School.
In the Under-14 grade, Suva Grammar School beat Nasinu Secondary School 19-10, while Church College Fiji was awarded a win by default against Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School.
At Suva Grammar Ground 2, Dudley High School secured a 37-24 win over Mahatma Gandhi Memorial School in the Under-16 grade.
Lomaivuna High School responded with a 17-10 victory over Dudley High School in the Raluve Under-16 competition.
Naitasiri Secondary School also produced an impressive attacking display to defeat John Wesley College 48-26 in the Under-17 grade.
With several pool matches still to be completed, supporters can expect more exciting rugby as teams continue their push for a place in the next stage of the 2026 Vodafone Deans Southern Zone Competition.
