Driver allowed bail

A 43 year old man charged with dangerous driving occasioning death appeared in the Nausori Magistrates Court in the last hour.

Salesh Prasad was bailed on the sum of $500 with 2 sureties and with strict bail conditions.

He has been ordered to report to the Nausori Police station every Saturday and has been ordered to surrender all his travel documents.

His plea has been deferred and the matter will now be called on 8th September.

Prasad was allegedly involved in a fatal accident along Princes Road at Waila Nausori yesterday afternoon that claimed the life of a 33 year old woman.

The accident occurred at around 4pm when the twin cab that the 33 year old was traveling in, collided head-on with a van.
