Altheltics Fiji Aims To Develop Rural Coaches
Athletics Fiji is aiming to develop rural coaches through the Basic Athletics coaching system.

The programme known as OBAS is expected to help coaches who are interested in expanding their knowledge in coaching the sport.

Athletics Fiji's, Albert Miller said they will have a course in Suva next month but the rest of the programme would look at the rural areas.

Miller said the course was simply for basic athletics which they are using to utilize their newly qualified coaches.

He said that former athletes Iosefo Vuloaloa, John Lum Kon and Maciu Koroitamana received their coaching qualification.

Athletics Fiji received $6,000 from the Australian High commission and that is part of their sporting outreach programme for the rural areas.
