Women with disabilities face a lot of barriers and problems in living a normal life.
Fiji Association of the Deaf Project Officer, Makerita Vuli said that disabled women are often pushed aside and hardly get a chance to work and earn a living for themselves.
She said they have come across many women who do not have any freedom to even go out and have a social life as they are seen as a burden.
Close to 30 members of the Fiji Association of the Deaf are currently attending a seminar on the UN Convention of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in Suva.
