Kiran calls for stronger support services for vulnerable groups
Gender-based violence and inequality in Fiji remain major concerns, with women continuing to face physical, emotional, psychological and economic harm.

Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection, Sashi Kiran highlighted this while addressing ministry officials during a capacity-building session aimed at strengthening service delivery and support systems for women, children, older persons and vulnerable groups.

Kiran reminded officers of their important responsibility in supporting vulnerable individuals and families within communities and encouraged them to strengthen awareness programmes, early intervention efforts and community support systems to help create safer communities for women and children.

She also stressed the importance of collaboration between government agencies and communities to ensure women and girls have equal access to opportunities, protection and support services.
