The US$24 million grant program to support Climate Change Initiatives in the Pacific Islands region was launched today.
US Ambassador Frankie Reed said the five year Pacific Climate Fund is to help communities in Fiji, Tonga, Kiribati, Nauru and Tuvalu adapt to effects of climate change.
Ambassador Reed stressed that she hears about how people are getting affected by climate change when she travels in the Pacific.
The US Government will also launch the Pacific American Climate Fund in their offices in PNG and the Marshall Islands.
