Final-year students at Fiji National University's Natabua Campus showcased their artistic talent and innovative fashion designs during an Art Exhibition and Fashion Showcase held recently in Lautoka.
The event, organised by the University's College of Humanities, Education and Law (CHEL) and the College of Engineering, Technical Vocational Education and Training (CETVET), highlighted the creativity, technical skills and dedication of students pursuing careers in education and design.

Held under the theme Identity in Visual Arts and Fashion, the exhibition featured works produced by trainee teachers studying for a Bachelor of Education (Secondary) in Physical Education and Art and Craft, as well as students undertaking a Bachelor of Education (Secondary) in Home Economics.
The showcased projects included drawing, carving, printmaking and advanced apparel and design, demonstrating the students' progression and skill development throughout their studies.
The students were guided by lecturers Mr Perry Gabriel, who is also Head of Natabua Campus, Mr Samuela Nabolaniwaqa and Ms Miriama Namosimalua.
Acting Head of School for the School of Education, Dr Varanisese Tagimaucia, says the exhibition reflected a shared commitment to strengthening teacher education through meaningful, hands-on learning experiences.
Dr Tagimaucia says the artworks and fashion pieces represented storytelling, cultural expression and the ability to connect ideas across time and context.

She also reminded the students of the important role they would play as future educators in helping young people understand themselves and express their identities.
