People should now accept the fact that we are in power and people must join us in this journey and follow the agenda of the nation.
That is the message from Fiji's Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama during the 2010 Budget Forum when he spoke to the business community, civil society groups and senior civil servants about the public and private sector partnership.
Bainimarama stressed that the private sector should stop thinking of their personal interests when they are invited by the government to contribute during the forums and meetings.
He said the bigger picture of what the government wants should be clearly understood by everyone.
The Prime Minister also said there are many people living below the poverty line and everyone should work on ensuring that the poor are assisted.
Bainimarama then said upfront to the packed room that he knows about some people who just think of their interests and are trying to use the government to get their way.
The Prime Minister at times asked certain members of the business community to declare their interests during the forum, which he said he was told about by one of Fiji's top businessmen Hari Punja.
