Homeless provided with temporary shelters
People in the Northern and Western division who are now homeless are being provided with temporary shelters by Fiji Red Cross Society.

Disaster Coordinator, Eseroma Ledua said that around 300 Red Cross volunteers are now on the ground doing assessments and providing homeless families with tarpaulins and tents to help provide shelter for the time being.

Ledua said that they are also giving out hygiene kits and some clothing to those who are left with nothing.

He added that they are awaiting a report from their teams in all divisions on the number of people already assisted and how many more are in need of it.
