NZ govt gives additional $2.9M
The New Zealand government is giving an additional 2.9 million Fijian dollars to Fiji to assist the next stage of recovery from tropical cyclone Evan.

It comes on top of an initial package of $684,798 to help with the immediate relief efforts. 

Foreign Affairs Minister Murray McCully said they will distribute the money in consultation with relevant agencies.

McCully said also an Air Force Orion that has been searching for missing people off Samoa for several days moved to Fiji late yesterday to undertake similar work.
