Businessman and Fiji's outgoing Ambassador to China Sir James Ah Koy said he has much more to offer to the nation as there is still a lot of work to be done to push the economy forward.
Ah Koy is currently in the country with a delegation of Chinese investors and returns later this week to China to pack his bags and come home following the appointment of former Police Commissioner Commodore Esala Teleni as Fiji's new Ambassador to China.
Speaking to Fijivillage, Sir James said his three year term as Ambassador to China ends on November 27th and he plans to return to take charge of his business once again.
Ah koy said his tenure as Ambassador to China has been very challenging as it is a very important posting with nations around the world now turning to China, which is now considered a major super power.
Ah Koy has been instrumental in strengthening relations between Fiji and China over the last three years and has assisted in attracting more Chinese investment into Fiji.
Sir James said he has no plans to retire at this stage as his mind is still agile and believes he has much more to contribute to Fiji's development.
Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama announced Teleni's appointment as Ambassador following the granting by the Chinese Government of the Agreement earlier requested by Fiji for Teleni's appointment.
Teleni is currently attached with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Suva undergoing preparatory briefing before he leaves for Beijing at the end of the year.
