Data collected by the Ministry of Health reveals that only sixteen percent of people in Fiji live over 50 years.
National Advisor on Non-Communicable Disease Control, Doctor Isimeli Tukana revealed this in a workshop where senior health officials from various hospitals and health centres are told about ways to combat Non-Communicable diseases.
According to Doctor Tukuna, more people in Fiji are dying at an earlier age due to life style diseases.
He adds that more people can live longer if they change their life sytle.
