Youth sentenced to 12 months for burglary
An 18 year old youth who was found guilty of burglary was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment by the Suva High Court today.

Mikaele Buliruarua entered into the house of a Prison officer with a 16 year old accomplice on 3rd of last month and stole items worth more than $800.

In mitigation he told Judge Justice Daniel Gounder that he is already serving a 6 months jail term and that the stolen items have been recovered.

The judge orded that Buliruarua will serve six months imprisonment concurrent with the pre-existing term.

The remaining six months of sentence has been suspended for the next two years.
