Clean up to continue in Ba

Clean up to continue in Ba
The Ba Town council will continue to clear blocked drains and silt in Yalalevu area tomorrow as cleanup enters the second week.

Special Administrator, Arun Prasad said many areas in Ba are still without water supply which makes cleaning up difficult.

Residents of Lautoka are concerned that authorities are not acting quickly to remove mud from Drasa Dam Bridge which is under water and closed to all traffic for over fourteen days.

A resident Gina Nand said due to landslide the bridge is covered with two meters of mud.

She added people in her area need to use the bridge to go to school, work and buy groceries from Lautoka City.

According to Nand some of the elderly need to go to the hospital for their medication.

Nand is concerned that contractors are not seriously doing the job to clear the bridge as soon as possible.

Drasa area still do not have water supply.
