Six Fiji citizens have been awarded the Australian Leadership Awards and will be undertaking Masters and Doctorate studies in Australia from next year.
The youngest of them, 23yr old Vanisha Mishra who is a Lecturer in Psychology at the University of the South Pacific said she will be pursuing her studies in child labor issues and the opportunity to go and study in Australia will help her a lot in gaining more knowledge on the issue.
The Australian Government provides over F$1.7 million each year for around 10 scholarships for study, up to Masters Level by Fiji citizens in Australia.
Australia's Minister Counselor for Pacific Development Cooperation, Judith Robinson hosted a farewell cocktail for the students last night at the Australian High Commission.
