The Fiji Revenue and Custom Authority has collected 1.735 billion as its total revenue for last year.
CEO Jitoko Tikolevu said that this is attributed to the sound tax policies, improved tax compliance, as well as multiplier effect through tax cuts.
He said that this is a result of FRCA's continuous efforts in ensuring that proper taxes are being collected, new revenue policies implemented last year and the commitment by taxpayers in meeting their tax obligations on time.
He said that the Vat continued to be dominant source of the overall tax revenue for about 39 percent.
He adds the income tax and customs accounted for 26 percent and 21 percent respectively, while other taxes accounted for 14 percent of the total tax revenue.
