The Taupo Satsang Ramayan Mandali, made up of Fijians, provided meals to residents at the Māori Women's Refuge in Taupo, New Zealand.
Speaking to fijivillage News, Mandali President Dev Achari said the group provided meals to about 70 people.
Achari says the organisation plans to expand the initiative to support between 100 and 200 people in the future.
He says members of the organisation came together to prepare meals for people supported by the refuge, believing that everyone deserves a good meal regardless of their age, race or religion.

He says the meal donation is only the beginning of the organisation's community work this year.
Achari adds that the organisation hopes to work closely with the Māori Women's Refuge on future initiatives and continue assisting those in need.
