The people of Delailasakau Village in Naitasiri have gathered to remember the 17 passengers and crew members who lost their lives in the Air Fiji Flight PC121 crash on 24th July 1999.
The domestic flight crashed into the hills of Mataicicia, Delailasakau, claiming all 17 lives on board in one of Fiji's worst aviation tragedies.

As part of the annual commemoration, the village observed Delailasakau Day, paying tribute to the victims and remembering the tragic events of that day.

Fiji's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, His Excellency Ambassador Filipo Tarakinikini, led the wreath-laying ceremony in honour of those who lost their lives, while Inspector of Police Paulino Wakanini represented the Fiji Police Force at the solemn occasion.

The commemoration concluded with a soli to raise funds for the construction of the new St Francis of Assisi Church in Delailasakau Village.
