An elderly couple escaped serious injury this morning after their vehicle veered off Kings Road at Lakena in Nausori and crashed into a coconut tree.
Police say the incident happened at about 9.20 this morning as the 69-year-old man and his wife were travelling from Lakena towards Nausori Town.
They say the couple escaped with minor injuries and were both taken to the Nausori Health Centre, where they received medical treatment.
