The village of Taviya and Yarovudi in Ovalau received educational materials and hospital items from the Brisbane Collective team and Fijians living in Australia yesterday.

Taviya village headman Sitiveni Sovaki says this is the third time they have received relief items from the Brisbane Collective team since Cyclone Winston.

Sovaki says Taviya was one of the villages which were severely damaged during Winston and they are grateful for the kind donations they have been receiving.

He says the education material will be given to the Taviya District School and the hospital items will be given to Levuka Hospital.

Speaking on behalf of the Brisbane Collective Team Mela Tuqiri says they collected about $15,000 worth of relief items most of which was donated around the country and particularly in Levuka.

Tuqiri has thanked the Fijian Government for facilitating the transportation 7 containers to Fiji.

The donations arrived yesterday and will be distributed to the villagers by the end of this week.
