High Court Judge, Justice Salesi Temo will sum up the case in the Timoci Lolohea murder trial at 11am Monday

High Court Judge, Justice Salesi Temo will sum up the case in the Timoci Lolohea murder trial at 11am Monday.

In her closing submission, DPP lawyer Siteri Navia said that from all the evidence given, it is clear that Lolohea went to Nasilivata Street on the 20th of March, 2017 with the intention to kill his defacto partner.

Navia says that Lolohea managed to lure his defacto partner to the porch of the house and stabbed her.

She says that it was too much jealously that led to the death of Lolohea’s defacto partner and not prolonged provocation.

Navia says that Lolohea had agreed that he receives about $20,000 when he returns from missions overseas and never sought psychiatric treatment as the defence counsel is arguing that those missions affected Lolohea’s lifestyle.

While giving his closing submission, defence lawyer Lisiate Qetaki said that ever since Lolohea was 19 years of age he only knew the military life.

Qetaki says people grow up in different places and in different lifestyles which determines the way they behave.

He says when a person with this lifestyle is provoked, he will not be able to control himself.

The defence lawyer then questioned as to how Lolohea can be found guilty if he was not in control of his actions and was not in his right state of mind.

He says Lolohea even assisted police in this case.

Timoci Lolohea is charged with a count of murder and it is alleged that he killed his defacto partner by stabbing her with two knives.
